About the firm
Habets advocatuur
Habets advocatuur is the firm of Susanne Habets, attorney-at-law (advocaat): a niche practice for Dutch employment law and sports law, based in Heerlen in the south of the Netherlands.
Over 25 years of Dutch employment law
Susanne Habets has been a member of the Dutch Bar since 1999. She spent some fifteen years with the firm Thuis & Partners, specialising in employment law, before founding her own firm on 1 September 2015.
She completed the Grotius postgraduate specialisation in Employment Law and is a member of VAAN, the Dutch association of employment law attorneys. For her second specialism she completed the postgraduate programme Sport, Sports Organisations & Law at VU University Amsterdam and is a member of the Dutch Association for Sports and Law.
Clients choose the firm for its combination of specialist knowledge and a personal approach: short lines, plain language, and a lawyer who handles the case herself. The aim is always a businesslike, practical solution with the client's interests first.
The firm advises in English and Dutch — a natural fit for international employers with staff in the Netherlands, expatriate employees, and foreign athletes or clubs confronted with Dutch law. For questions outside employment and sports law, the firm draws on a network of specialised attorneys.
